Grants Manager

We are looking for a successful grants fundraiser to join our team and help take our work supporting the UK circus sector to the next level. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in fundraising to make a real difference in an ambitious and supportive organisation, working closely with all of our stakeholders - artists, participants, senior managers and trustees – to develop a culture of fundraising at the heart of our work. The role is based in the fundraising and marketing department and reports to the Director of Fundraising and Marketing. The fundraising team, which in addition to the Director includes a Development Officer, is responsible for raising an annual target of c£350k towards our busy programme of work, of which grants – primarily from trusts and foundations but also companies and statutory sources – make a significant contribution.

You will be an energetic, focused fundraiser with the drive to take on and achieve substantial income targets, a proven track record in developing successful fundraising proposals, and the tenacity to follow applications through to conclusion. The role will ideally suit someone with a creative approach to fundraising and funder engagement, exceptional attention to detail, and who is self-motivated and organised and able to establish and sustain great relationships. Finally, you will have a genuine enthusiasm for the work of the National Centre.
