Circus Arts Assistant Teacher
This role forms part of our teacher development pathway, looking for applicants who are interested in developing their teaching skills across a range of ages and are committed to taking on training and feedback. It is best suited to those with little to no teaching experience and who want to develop their teaching abilities. If you are already teaching regularly, we would not recommend applying for this role.
This is a hands-on job, which includes supporting and leading during classes under the guidance of lead teachers. Successful candidates will demonstrate a passion and knowledge of circus and an interest in developing this into best teaching practice.
Majority of work will be on Saturday/Sundays working with ages from 2 – 18 years old, however as your contract evolves, you’ll have the opportunity to work across all ages and on our adult, outreach and progressive programmes.
If you are applying for this role, you must be comfortable teaching younger age groups and be able to commit to working weekends.
While previous Teaching Assistants have progressed into teaching roles in the Participation and Outreach programme, please note each assistant is different and therefore this not a guaranteed outcome of the role.
The assistant role is used as a mentoring and progressive role, with the appropriate candidates working towards becoming full teachers on a range of youth and adult courses.
