Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Performing Arts – Circus Arts
This course is offered free to 16 - 18 year olds.
Some funding is also available to those up to 25 years old.
The Diploma in Performing Arts is run by New City College, Hackney (previously known as Hackney Community College). This one year, full time course will give you an insight into circus and the wider performing arts sector.
Students spend approximately 6 – 8 hours per week at New City College, Hackney and 15 hours at the National Centre for Circus Arts.
The National Centre is responsible for running nine modules over the year-long course, including six core circus modules.
The BTEC is aimed at those with some experience in performing arts, although we accept students on the basis of future potential.
The course is taught at a beginner to intermediate level and is designed to enhance current skills and explore new ones. It can also be used as a platform into higher education courses, performing and other BTEC studies.

How to apply
The deadline for September 2018 intake has now closed.
Successful applicants for 2018-19 intake will need to be free for an audition at the National Centre for Circus Arts on Saturday 2 June 2018.
4 GCSEs at grades A-C or BTEC Level 2 Diploma (merit); plus an audition and interview.
