Ensemble Season 2026 | Programme

The National Centre for Circus Arts presents its 2026 Ensemble Season!

Our talented BA2 and BA3 students have crafted these exciting ensemble performances, working with industry-renowned directors, Hobbit and Daisy Minto.

Cold Pouring

Cold Pouring is presented by our second year students.

Cold Pouring explores concepts like ambiguity, reconstruction, collaboration, and creative paradox — inviting the audience to witness the multitude of human experience in all its wondrous complexity.

The piece draws on mechanisms from Surreal Theatre from a feminist perspective, and takes inspiration from figures like Claude Cahun, Leonora Fini, and Margerite Humeau.

Liminal Planes

In a new-format for our BA3 ensemble production, our final-year students were divided into three companies and tasked with creating work based on the theme of Dreams.

Under the creative facilitation of Daisy Minto, each group has devised and directed its own performance.

Dear Diary

Dear Diary, I feel so betrayed and unhappy. I invited everyone to my annual Valentine’s party, but this has turned into a disaster.

I open my home and my heart, and what do I get in return? I can barely grip the pen as I write this: someone has stolen my most prized possession!

Echoes of Arachne

Dream catchers originated from the Ojibwe Tribe and are a traditional craft piece hung above a child’s bed to protect them while they sleep.

Under the curse of the gods, Arachne is left to weave the web of a dream catcher and is believed to catch bad dreams and filter through good ones.

Join us on a journey through the landscape of a dreamer’s mind.

End of the Line

Darkness? Dying alone? Teeth? Spiders? Falling down the gap? What are you scared of?

No signal, no connection. Just you and the hum of your own mind. When there’s nothing left to do, what fills the silence?

What do you think about on the tube? We’ve been thinking about you. Stand clear of the closing doors, this train is ready to depart.

We’ve always been passionate about ensuring our students have high-quality opportunities to perform their work and donations have helped us continue to produce these shows. But, as with many producing theatres in recent times, the cost of delivery has rapidly increased, and it now costs us roughly £100,000 every year to put on our student productions.

Please consider making a donation today and help support this hugely important part of the learning journey.
