Jacksons Lane Summer Circus Hub 2026

This summer, Jacksons Lane is opening up their building and inviting artists and producers in: to make, train, test ideas, develop skills and spend time together. No heavy outcomes or demands, just space, time and a supportive environment.
Residencies and Free Space
Across the summer, the J L Theatre is home to a rotating group of resident companies, while the studios are available for work, training or creation through a free workspace lottery. The free workspace lottery is open to artists of all levels and disciplines, who can apply for free, in-kind studio space at Jacksons Lane from 3 Aug–4 Sep 2026. For more information and to enter the Studio Space Lottery, see here (applications close 8 Jun 2026).
Alongside this, each week includes masterclasses, key sector conversations, sharings and time to connect… in the bar, in the studios and in between.
Professional Masterclasses
Thursday is Masterclass Day with the chance to work with a variety of leading figures from the sector exploring different themes and skills – at very affordable prices! Afterwards, JL will host a live ‘Circus Conversation’ with each of the class leaders. Materclasses led by Victoria Dela Amadeume, Lina Johansson, Nikki Rummer, Sadiq Ali and Daisy Minto.
Practical Skills
Friday is Focus Day with valuable discussion sessions to upskill your practical skills as circus artists and producers developing work and making it ready for the touring and development. This will be followed by the weekly sharing in the theatre, before we all head to the bar. Sharings from Kook Ensemble, Natalie Reckert & Mark Morreau, Clamber Collective, Hikapee, The Jack Horner Company and Zirkus Morsa.
The JL Summer Circus Hub is practical way to spend time with other artists, develop ideas and be part of what’s happening in the building over the summer. If you’re not working in circus, feel free to join the sharings and come to the conversations. Everyone is welcome.
