Seeking a Cabaret-style Host/Singer for R&D – Glamorous & Non-Binary or Female Presenting 

Project: REDFEST, a research & development showcase featuring two original productions at our base in Southwest France. The concept is, 2 different shows using the same artists, directed by 2 different directors & choreographers.

Dates: 30 June – 1 August, 2026

Working week: 5.5 days pw, 1/2 Saturday and Sundays off.

Travel days: 29 June & 2 August

Culmination: 3 days of showcase performances, 30, 31 July & 1 august

Fee: *€580 Euros per week x 5 weeks

*€435 euros after tax. This fee is subject to an obligatory French tax of 15% which can be reclaimed and we will issue the relevant certificate for this. French Artists can be paid through their association to collect their ‘intermittant ‘credits. Accommodation, 3 healthy chef cooked meals each day, Travel costs from UK/ Europe.

The Role

We are seeking a versatile cabaret performer and vocal tour-de-force to inhabit two distinct personas across two separate shows. This performer is confident, adaptable, and creatively curious. The ideal candidate enjoys improvisation, is open to exploring and devising with a strong sense of comedic timing. Professionalism and pride in one’s crafts is essential. Above all, we’re seeking artists who love performing!

This performer must be a master of “seductive authority,” possessing a silver tongue, a “sassy melting gaze,” and a voice like velvet. bring a vibrant, life-affirming energy to the stage.

The Characters

• Show 1: A gender-fluid, 80s-inspired enigma. A high-fashion provocateur who moves between androgynous charm and biting, satirical monologues.

• Show 2: A commanding matriarch of song. Whether in a razor-sharp suit or a sweeping ballgown, she is the pinnacle of slick, sultry sophistication.

Requirements

• Experienced Vocalist: Ability to deliver high-impact musical performances and sultry, atmospheric vocals.

• Commanding Host: A magnetic presence that “claims the room” through sharp wit and sophisticated crowd work.

• Versatile Performer: Skilled in both scripted monologues and character-driven improvisation.
