Cyr Wheel Workshop
About
The Cyr wheel is an aluminin circle first adapted and developed as a circus act by Daniel Cyr in 1996.
In this introductory workshop we will look at the foundations of the main categories of movement with a Cyr Wheel: manipulation, spinning, and rolling.
Starting by learning to get used to the wheel’s weight and it’s natural movement and momentum. Then learning variations of movement patterns, manipulating the wheel across different axis. We will finish by working on the prerequisites of the classic “waltz” pattern, and starting to spin within the wheel.
Participants should bring sport footware (trainers) and wear shorts/trousers/legware that you can squat in.
