About
Get a brilliant introduction into the foundations of Chinese Pole. Although this course is suitable for absolute beginners, you should have a good level of overall fitness and upper body strength. Expect to build on your strength through calisthenics and basic moves on the pole such as climbs, before progressing onto more advanced poses and tricks, including resting positions, slides and drops.
Who it’s for
This course is the place to start if you have no or limited experience of circus, but want to learn from the basics, as well as developing your fitness and helping you gain confidence on specialist circus equipment. Once our teachers feel that a student is ready, you will be able to progress to Level 2.
What to wear
Clothing may get ripped, so please don’t wear your best attire. You’ll need to wear clothing that covers your arms and legs, such as:
- Old stretchy/fitted jeans, with a belt (recommended)
- Leggings
- Tights
- Long sleeved T-shirt
Please bring along a pair of plimsolls or soft-sole trainers. We will provide shoes, but in the event that your size is not available, you will need to train in your own shoes. If you’d like to purchase your own we suggest a pair of Feiyue’s.
